While my believe in God disappeared, I did believe in reincarnation for a very long time. While it also does not make sense to me now, I still find it a very interesting concept. Moreso than being stuck in an afterlife for all eternity.
I've always been interested in the concept of immortality, and because Earth entertains me so, I do not care to become immortal in some ghost world that either "hands everything to me" or "where I get tortured for all eternity because I touched myself". That's why reincarnation appeals to me.
Though, what's the use if you never remember who you've been and what you've learned in your previous lives? What if your next form is an ant? Your life would be quickly over and no experience would be gained.
But well, the fact people only ever claim to be the reincarnation of a famous person makes the concept hard to believe, and then of course there's the issue that there are alot more people and animals today then there was generations ago.
If reincarnation is a thing, where do all those new "souls" come from? It doesn't make reincarnation needed.
